Patients’ Insurance are resetting
Many Patients’ Insurance are resetting or changing on January 1, 2015. Employers have closed open enrollment for benefits and the employees, your patients, have selected their health insurance for the new year.
Have you asked your patients for their new insurance card for 2015? If not, you should.. This is your opportunity to be proactive in the reimbursement for your services. Many patients will remain with the same insurance, but some will change. But, you will never know until receive the EOB with the “Denial.”
We are all conditioned to be asked for our insurance each time we go to our primary care doctor or even the dentist.
Then with the new insurance, how do you the Provider verify the benefits for 2015? As a mental health biller, we create a spreadsheet for all our providers with the benefits for their patients; copayment, coinsurance and deductible.
