Credentialed or Non-Credentialed Providers form of patient payment
How are you collecting out-of-pocket payments from your patients? If you are an in-network or out-of-network provider your sessions are a qualified medical expense.
2 Forms of payment
- Health Savings Account (HSA)
A type of savings account that allows a person to set aside on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical expenses. The HSA account allows the patient to pay for a deductible, co-payments, co-insurance and some other health care expenses. Often for this account, the patient has a debit card to pay expenses at time of service.
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
A special account a patient puts money into to pay certain out-of-pocket health care costs. The FSA account allows the patient to pay for a deductible, co-payments, co-insurance and some other health care expenses. FSA accounts can have a debit card or they can be reimbursed with a Superbill from services provided.
